Grammy-nominated The War and Treaty at Harbison Theatre

October 17, 2024

With opening act The Kentucky Gentlemen, one of NPR’s 2023 “Artists to Watch”

The War and Treaty is coming to South Carolina for one night only, November 1, at Harbison Theatre. Husband-and-wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter are vocal powerhouses who deliver a lionhearted sonic blend of roots rock, Americana, and country.

Earning GRAMMY nominations for Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song for “Blank Page,” they also received a Duo of the Year nomination from the Country Music Association, Vocal Duo nomination from the Academy of Country Music, Duo/Group of the Year two years straight from the Americana Music Association, plus recognition by the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry.

The duo has captivated audiences across the globe while headlining their own shows and opening for a diverse group of artists including Al Green, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, John Legend, Lauren Daigle, and Van Morrison.

Executive director Kristin Cobb said of the group, “I had the chance to hear this amazing band at the St. Pat’s Fest in Five Points this past spring and was blown away by their stage presence and raw talent.  I did not think we would be fortunate enough to bring them back for a theatre concert this season as they are playing in large arenas all over the country.  To hear them up close in our 400-seat theatre is going to be pure magic!”
