Maynard Nexsen, a full-service law firm with 24 offices across the United States, announced the creation of Maynard Nexsen Business Advisory Services, a multi-disciplinary team offering a range of business and strategic counsel, primarily to privately held and family owned businesses and their owners and management teams.
Businesses often need advice and guidance in the face of new opportunities or unique circumstances. Maynard Nexsen Business Advisory Services offers the resources, experience and objectivity necessary to navigate complex and critical decisions. In these instances, companies and their leadership teams benefit from having an outside business advisor who understands both the legal and business environment in which those circumstances and conditions exist.
Common situations signaling the need for an advisor include ownership transition, management succession, strategic acquisition opportunities and other business combinations, internal and external conflict, market-based change or events and other circumstances that can impact the organizational health and success of the business.
Greg Curran, Maynard Nexsen’s Chairman of the Board, will lead this initiative using his 35 years of experience as a Corporate, M&A and general business lawyer to advise clients in short- and long-term strategies for success.
Maynard Business Advisory Services will focus on the following types of engagements and projects:
- Ownership Succession Planning
- Management Succession Planning
- Family Succession Planning
- M&A/Exit Strategy Planning
- M&A Process Management
- Executive Compensation/Incentive Arrangements
- Corporate Governance
- Risk Management
- Crisis and Conflict Management
- Strategic Communications
In addition to advising the client during the process, Maynard Nexsen Business Advisory Services also provides process and project management services to coordinate the efforts and roles of owners, boards, management teams and other third party consultants and service providers to achieve the desired results. This collaborative approach is key to developing and executing a highly tailored plan built around the key objectives of the client.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to assist companies with important matters that can preserve and drive long term value,” Curran said. “It is always our goal to develop a deep understanding of what drives success in each client’s business and culture, and to learn what they really care about in order to help them solve problems, develop strategies, and drive desired outcomes.”
