October 31, 2024

Fountain Foods Market is now open in downtown Fountain Inn. One of only a handful of grocery stores in the area, the specialty market, where FRESH meets FAMILY, has a wide variety of grocery items, along with 40+ made-from-scratch meals available for grab & go/take & bake.

Offerings include:

  • Grocery items: jams, jellies, salad dressings, condiments, spices, dry goods, healthy snacks, seeds, nuts, popcorn, pretzels, trail mixes, coffee, beverages, locally-sourced meat, cheeses, and other dairy products, kitchen utensils & accessories

  • Prepared foods: chicken salad, pimento cheese, shrimp dip, potato salad, pasta salad, sandwiches, salads, wraps, smoked wings & ribs (fully-cooked, served fresh or frozen),, single-serving lunches and dinners

  • Made-from-scratch meals: chicken pot pie, lasagna, meatloaf, casseroles, pastas, quiches, soups, Beef Stroganoff, pot roast, Brunswick stew, poppyseed chicken, quinoa salad with grilled chicken, chicken & Spanish rice, Buffalo chicken bowl, twice-baked potatoes, and more!

  • Sweets/Desserts: Baked goods, cakes, pies, handpies, whoopie pies, bread, and specialty candies (many of which are sourced from the Amish country in Pennsylvania)

Owner Kristy Willey creates all of the recipes. She is the oldest of five kids and cooked for her family a lot growing up. She strives to make delicious homemade meals “like your grandma used to make”, to give busy families the chance to enjoy dinner together. “People don’t have time to cook like they used to,” says Willey. “We try to make it easy so people can grab meals on their way home from school, work, or sports practice, and enjoy a sit-down dinner together in a matter of minutes.”

Kristy and her husband, Jesse, are the former owners of The Pantry Shoppe in Greenwood, which was originally started by Jesse’s mother. They ran the store for about 11 years before they sold it and took some time off. You can read more about the history of the Pantry Shoppe here.

“This is a fresh start for us and a totally different store than the Pantry Shoppe,” says Kristy. “While we’re still making some of the things we’re well known for, like chicken pot pies and casseroles, we’ve worked hard to curate a whole new selection of take & bake meals and specialty items for the market. There aren’t many grocery stores in Fountain Inn, so we are excited and proud to fill this need in the community.”

Fountain Foods Market is located at 209 S. Main Street in downtown Fountain Inn. Store hours are 9:30am-6pm, Tuesday-Saturday.
