FOX Carolina Launches 2024 Operation Coat Drive: Clinton and Laurens Drop-Off Locations Included

FOX Carolina has kicked off its 2024 Operation Coat Drive, running from Monday, October 28 through Friday, November 22. This annual initiative is made possible with the support of sponsors Ingles, Fred Anderson Family of Dealerships, and Brown Haven Homes.

Residents are encouraged to drop off new or gently used winter wear, including coats, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, and blankets. Both adult and child sizes are welcome, but please check for any tears or stains before donating. Additionally, only new socks will be accepted.

Donations from the coat drive will benefit The Salvation Army, providing essential winter items for individuals and families in need across Western North Carolina.

Suggested Donation Items:

• Coats (new or gently used; adult and child sizes)
• Hats
• Scarves
• Gloves/mittens (adult and child sizes)
• New socks (no used socks accepted)
• Blankets (new or gently used)

The need is especially dire this year in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, as many families in Western North Carolina continue to struggle with recovery. With winter approaching, residents of Laurens County have an opportunity to extend a helping hand through the Operation Coat Drive. Your donations will offer vital warmth and comfort to our neighbors who are facing immense challenges in the wake of the storm.
