The Anne Frank House launches a 3D virtual tour
November 14, 2024Featuring Rachel Riley as a multilingual AI avatar guide
The Anne Frank House, in partnership with EyeSpy360, launches an AI avatar-guided 3D virtual tour available in four languages, allowing visitors worldwide to explore the museum from home or school. The tour is guided by a multilingual AI avatar of Rachel Riley.
Visitors are able to navigate their way through every room in the Anne Frank House, accompanied by photos, video clips, sound bites, objects and documents. Rachel Riley’s image and voice have been digitally cloned into an avatar, guiding users through the historical spaces, by choice in English, Spanish, Dutch or German. More languages will follow.
Educational
The 3D tour includes a virtual exploration of the entire museum including the Annex, the hidden space where Anne Frank, her family and four other Jews took refuge during World War II. The Annex remains empty today, following the wish of Otto Frank, Anne’s father, who survived the Holocaust and dedicated his life to preserving his daughter’s legacy. By offering this virtual access, the Anne Frank House opens its doors to people worldwide who may not have the opportunity to visit the museum in Amsterdam in person.
The tour provides information about the life and work of Anne Frank, contextualized within the events of World War II and the Holocaust. Rachel Riley’s AI avatar guides visitors through a deeply moving narrative, making it a valuable resource for schools and educational programs across the globe.
