Sustain SC Team continues to grow with hiring of Marketing and Events Director, Emily Skaggs

Sustain SC, a nonprofit organization connecting the sustainability goals of business in South Carolina with local solutions, announced Emily Skaggs has joined as Marketing and Events Director.
Emily brings a wealth of expertise in marketing, communications, corporate events, sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement. Her professional journey spans more than a decade, with a focus on creating impactful marketing and communications strategies and events. Most recently, she spent six years with Milliken & Company, where she contributed to numerous roles supporting marketing operations, project management, corporate event planning and sustainability reporting. Emily is also a proud graduate of the Sustainability Leadership Initiative, a program run by Sustain SC and Furman University’s Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities.

Emily’s leadership will be vital to Sustain SC’s efforts to connect business leaders, policymakers and community members to share best practices and inspire action to further enhance sustainable growth. “We are excited to welcome Emily to Sustain SC,” said CEO Leslie Skardon. “Growing our team enables us to expand and strengthen our efforts to help deliver sustainable solutions for the state.”
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Emily is deeply committed to her community. She resides in Spartanburg with her husband and two stepsons, where she actively contributes to local arts and culture. She currently serves on the board of the Spartanburg Little Theatre, where she lends her expertise to support the organization’s mission to foster a thriving local arts scene.
