World Finance sponsors ramp build to support Rebuild Upstate

July 24, 2025

Volunteers from World Finance, a loan, taxes, and motor club located in Greenville, SC, recently came together to build a new deck for a local homeowner.

Rebuild Upstate, a local nonprofit that serves low-income homeowners in the Upstate, relies on generous volunteers like World Finance to assist us in our mission. Volunteers spent the day demolishing the original deck before building a new, safer one, ensuring this homeowner can now enjoy their deck safely without the fear of falling or getting hurt. This homeowner says their favorite pastime is sitting on their deck to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Thanks to World Finance, this homeowner can go back to doing just that.

CEO Jake Beaty says, “We are so grateful for the support of World Finance in helping us serve this homeowner. When local businesses donate their time and money to help us complete a project, it creates a tangible, lasting impact.”

Nearly half of the ramps installed last year by our program were sponsored by local businesses or community groups, and many of those sponsors brought both funds and volunteers to complete critical repair projects. Most build day sponsors are small, locally-owned businesses choosing to invest their hard-earned money back into the community where they live and work.

The project was coordinated by Mickey Walker, World Finance team member and Rebuild Upstate volunteer, alongside Rebuild Upstate’s volunteer and project management staff.

“We love supporting our team members at World Finance who are serving their community,” said World Acceptance Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer, Chad Prashad. “Mickey Walker is a great member of our team in Greenville and has been a longtime supporter of Rebuild Upstate. We are proud of the way his commitment to consistently serve the community encouraged so many others on our team to join in this build.”

Each year, thousands of volunteers help us live out our mission. Our generous volunteers perform critical repairs for our neighbors while having fun and sharing hope with each homeowner along the way. We couldn’t do what we do without volunteers, so we make it as easy as possible for you or your group to start volunteering. Interested in getting your business involved?
