USC College of Information and Communications to partner with Google and Columbia Chamber on AI workshops
August 4, 2025The University of South Carolina College of Information and Communications, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Google will offer a free AI workshop for local businesses on August 26 at 9:00 a.m. at the Pastides Alumni Center.
This event is part of Grow with Google’s “Make AI Work for You” initiative, and the CIC has been named Google’s EDU partner to bring its content to Columbia-based small businesses.
“This collaboration with Google and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce marks a significant milestone for our community, bringing cutting-edge AI education directly to our local businesses. We are excited to empower entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to leverage AI for growth and success,” said Tom Reichert, Dean of the College of Information and Communications at USC.
Google staff will lead the “Make AI Work for You” workshops and will provide laptops for all participants, as well as parking and light refreshments. This is the first of several workshops co-hosted by CIC and Google, with Charleston and Ft. Mill to be scheduled in the future.
