Spaghetti for a Cause: Help Complete the Laurens County Humane Society Spay & Neuter Clinic

August 6, 2025

The Laurens County Humane Society is cooking up more than just dinner this August—they’re serving hope for a better future for the county’s stray and at-risk animals.

On Friday, August 15, supporters can swing by Westminster Presbyterian Church after work and pick up a warm, hearty meal while helping fund a critical need: the completion of the Laurens County Humane Society’s Spay and Neuter Clinic.

The “Spaygetty” take-out only dinner includes spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, and garlic bread for just $12 per plate, with all proceeds going directly toward the clinic. Meals will be available for pickup in the late afternoon and evening.

The Humane Society’s new facility, which has been steadily taking shape, is close to being fully functional—but the finish line can’t be crossed without more community support. Fundraising efforts like this one will help purchase the remaining equipment and supplies necessary to open the clinic’s doors.

The need is urgent. Laurens County is overwhelmed with stray animals, and unplanned litters are flooding the shelter system. Many local families simply can’t afford the cost of spay and neuter procedures at traditional vet offices. Providing affordable, accessible services is a crucial step in solving the problem at its root—and the new clinic aims to do just that.
