American Legion Post 25 in Laurens hosted a meet and greet event on Saturday, August 9, to celebrate their newly built facility and further strengthen connections within the local community. The event, which began at noon, was the culmination of a long day of preparations, including smoking a pig overnight and organizing a variety of sides to ensure a delicious meal for all guests.
The gathering saw not only local community members but also a significant number of attendees from nearly every one of South Carolina’s 55 American Legion Posts. The event was filled with patriotic music, great food, and camaraderie, as everyone enjoyed the newly established space.
Kevin Farnsworth, Post Commander, expressed pride in the hard work that went into building the facility over the last 1.5 years. “This facility is a testament to the dedication of our members and the strong support we have in Laurens County,” Farnsworth said. “We’ve created a space where veterans and their families can come together, find support, and continue making a difference in our community. We are more than just a post — we are a force for good in Laurens County.”
The new building provides an ideal environment for the Post’s ongoing efforts to support veterans and the broader community. Whether through hosting local events or offering assistance to those in need, American Legion Post 25 continues to exemplify the values of service and patriotism.
