Dorchester County opens new Pine Trace Park
August 18, 2025Park Features First County-Owned Disc Golf Course, Inclusive Playground, and Kayaking and Fishing Opportunities
Dorchester County Council and Dorchester County Parks and Recreation joined with local elected and appointed officials and the community to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the County’s newest park, Pine Trace Park.
The new 306-acre park features a shaded, inclusive playground with ramped play structures and transfer stations, all-abilities Roxall sea saw, sensory wave climber, and cozy spots for when breaks are needed; the County’s first county-owned disc golf course, designed by Innova Disc Golf, a top disc golf company in the nation; disc golf and fishing rentals; kayak launches and rentals; fishing opportunities in the pond, which is stocked with blue gill and bass fish; approximately five miles of hiking trails; fenced dog parks; and reservable picnic shelters and event space.
The park is located at 303 Chandler Creek Road in Summerville, off Miles Jamison Road, and is open from dawn to dusk each day, excluding holidays. Admission is $2 per person for ages 3 and older. Annual passes are available for $42 for Dorchester County residents. The pass provides unlimited access to both Pine Trace Park and Ashley River Park, along with a variety of programs offered throughout the year.
