Blue Hose Stun Furman in Overtime, Move to 2-0

September 7, 2025

Presbyterian College delivered another thrilling finish on Saturday night, shocking Furman 39-38 in overtime in Greenville and improving to 2-0 on the season.

Down 31-14 in the fourth quarter, the Blue Hose refused to quit. Quarterback Collin Hurst sparked the comeback with a touchdown pass to Zach Switzer, followed by a field goal after a lengthy lightning delay. A key fumble recovery by Carter Szydlowski set up the tying touchdown to force overtime.

Furman scored first in the extra period, but Presbyterian answered quickly. Hurst threw his fifth touchdown of the game to Nathan Levicki, then connected with him again for a daring two-point conversion that sealed the win.

The victory marks Presbyterian’s second straight upset over a Southern Conference opponent and shows the grit of a team that thrives under pressure. The Blue Hose now look ahead to their home opener against Erskine on September 13.
