Thornwell to Host Free Strengthening Families Program Beginning September 23 in Clinton
September 7, 2025Do you ever wish your family could listen more and yell less? Thornwell’s Strengthening Families Program may be just what you need.
Starting Monday, September 23, Thornwell is offering this free, 11-week program to help Laurens County families build stronger relationships, improve communication, and foster resilience in children. Classes will be held Monday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at 302 S Broad Street in Clinton.
Open to all Laurens County families, the Strengthening Families Program provides practical tools for long-term success—whether you’re navigating divorce, job loss, grief, behavioral challenges, or simply hoping to grow closer as a family.
“This program is about equipping families with the tools they need to thrive,” said Ken Haywald, program facilitator at Thornwell. “It’s interactive, supportive, and built around what real families face every day.”
Each weekly session includes:
-
A shared family meal
-
Free childcare for children ages 0 to 5
-
Age-appropriate classes for parents/caregivers and children
-
Take-home resources, raffles, and weekly prizes
Whether you’re a parent looking to strengthen your skills, a caregiver supporting a child with social struggles, or a family healing from hardship, this program offers a welcoming space to learn, grow, and connect.
Registration is free, but space is limited.
