SCETV celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with special programming available on-air and online
September 16, 2025South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month held Sept.15 – Oct. 15. This celebration of tradition, history, art and achievement spotlights Hispanic culture through featured programs and dynamic stories. Content ranging from poetry and dance to explorers and baseball players showcases the impactful contributions Hispanic individuals make on the state, country and world.
UPCOMING PROGRAMS ON ETV
38th Hispanic Heritage Awards – Enjoy an entertaining and moving production featuring the hottest Latino entertainers as they recognize the year’s distinguished honorees. Airs Sept. 26 at 9 p.m.
Voces: Omara – Explore the life of Cuban singer Omara Portuondo, from her early days in Havana’s nightclubs to her global fame as part of the Buena Vista Social Club. Airs Sept. 26 at 10 p.m.
Pati’s Mexican Table – Witness the preparation of classic Hispanic favorites while learning how to add a spice and flavor to bring any meal to the next level. Premieres Sept. 27 at 11:30 a.m.
American Masters: Julia Alvarez: A Life Reimagined – Get to know an author called “a writer of gigantic storytelling talent, and exquisitely composed prose” and explore her work that spans multiple genres including three books of nonfiction, three collections of poetry, 11 books for children and young adults, and seven literary novels. Airs Oct. 3 at 10 p.m.

Fabrica de Arte Americas – View contemporary art originally founded in Havana, Cuba and brought to Denver as part of the Cities Summit of the Americas. The extraordinary event combines the art of over 100 dancers, musicians and designers from across the Americas, and highlights the tremendously unifying impact art has across cultures. Airs Sept. 28 at 11 p.m.
Last Mambo – The Last Mambo explores the San Francisco Bay Area’s Latin music scene. From the 1930’s to 2000 and beyond, musicians are transforming the future through education and community outreach. Airs Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
Voces: Mambo Legends: The Music Never Ends – Meet the Mambo Legends Orchestra, committed to keeping the sounds of the great Afro-Cuban bandleaders Machito, Tito Puente and Tito Rodriguez alive for future generations. Airs Oct. 12 at 8 p.m.
