SCETV and the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance showcase telehealth stories during Telehealth Awareness Week

September 16, 2025

South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) spotlights the powerful role of telehealth in improving healthcare access, outcomes and lives across South Carolina during Telehealth Awareness Week, observed Sept. 14–20. Throughout the week, SCETV will share real stories from patients, families, clinicians and communities, both on-air and online.

As a member of the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance, SCETV has highlighted how telehealth is transforming care delivery in the Palmetto State. From patients learning how to navigate digital tools for appointments and medical records to children receiving treatment for asthma through school-based telehealth programs, the partnership underscores how telehealth is helping people receive care faster, lowering costs, and expanding access in rural and underserved areas.

In recognition of these advancements, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has declared Sept. 14–20 as Telehealth Awareness Week in South Carolina.

During the week, viewers will see patient vignettes that illustrate the life-changing impact of telehealth. These include the story of a woman who credits a telehealth program with saving her life during her recovery from opioid use disorder as well as stories from school-based initiatives that are helping students and teachers remain healthy throughout the year. These voices reflect how telehealth continues to help bridge healthcare gaps for individuals, families and communities across the state.
