Trident Medical recognizes life-saving efforts of Berkeley first responders
September 16, 2025Trident Medical Center held a special challenge coin ceremony on Thursday, September 11, 2025, recognizing more than 60 first responders from agencies across Berkeley County.
The group was honored for life-saving efforts tied to two separate trauma-related incidents that occurred in August and May 2025. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of agencies involved, two victims from the events survived and were successfully transported to and treated at Trident Medical Center.

Recognized agencies included Berkeley County Emergency Medical Services, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, North Berkeley Fire and Rescue, Central Berkeley Fire & EMS, Berkeley County Emergency Management, Moncks Corner Fire Department, Goose Creek City Fire Department, LifeNet, Family Medical Transport, Port City Ambulance, Moncks Corner Medical Center, and staff from Joint Base Charleston’s Short Stay Recreation Area.
