Clinton Girls Tennis Sweeps Fairfield Central

The Clinton High School Girls Tennis team continued its strong start to the season with a dominant 6–0 win over Fairfield Central on Tuesday, September 16. The match, played at the Clinton Middle School courts, improved the Red Devils’ record to 2–0 overall and 1–0 in Region play.

#1 Singles – Libby Dailey defeated Thianna McCornell 6–0, 6–0
#2 Singles – Addy Derrick defeated Zoe Cameron 6–0, 6–0
#3 Singles – Abby McMurray defeated Jermani Bouler 6–0, 6–0
#4 Singles – Kkayleigh Lawson defeated Zahra Burrell 6–0, 6–1
#5 Singles – Merin Orr defeated Ja’Nasha Gibson 6–0, 6–0
Doubles Results
#1 Doubles – Dailey & Derrick – Did Not Play
#2 Doubles – Savanna Fountain & Lydia Whitmore – Won by Forfeit
With every singles player notching straight-set victories, the Red Devils left no doubt on the court. The second doubles team also secured a win by forfeit, completing the sweep.
