Why It Matters Locally
For Laurens residents, the importance of preparedness is more than theoretical. Just last year, Hurricane Helene left neighborhoods without power for days, strained local resources, and highlighted how quickly daily routines can be disrupted. City leaders note that experiences like this underscore the importance of planning ahead, building resilience, and knowing where to turn for help.
