Dorchester County announces 2025 tax sale and deadline for 2024 tax payments

Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Office will hold its 2025 Tax Sale at Lovely Hills Conference Center (5905 W Jim Bilton Blvd, St George) on the following dates and times:

• Monday, November 17, 2025: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Tuesday, November 18, 2025: 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Property owners will have until Friday, November 14, 2025, by 5 p.m., to pay their 2024 taxes to avoid inclusion in the sale. After this deadline, payments will not be accepted, and properties will proceed to sale.

Taxpayers have several payment options to meet the deadline:

• In person at the Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Office (201 Johnston Street, St. George) Note: There is no Delinquent Tax Office in Summerville.
• By Phone using credit/debit card (2.95% service fee applies) by calling 843-563-0110.
• By Mail with a cashiers check or money order (must be postmarked by November 14, 2025) to: Dorchester County Tax Collector, 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477. Please note: Personal and business checks are not accepted.

Bidder registration for the tax sale will begin online on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, and close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Please note that no bidder registration will be allowed on the day of the sale. To register, visit the Dorchester County website for the online registration link.

Property listings will be advertised starting October 29, 2025, in the Summerville Journal Scene, the Dorchester Eagle-Record, and on the Dorchester County website. Mobile home listings will also be available online for two consecutive weeks beginning November 3, 2025.
