Bring a Little Comfort to the Table — Sponsor a Meal for Laurens County Cancer Patients

The Laurens County Cancer Association (LCCA) is inviting individuals, clubs, civic organizations, ladies’ circles, and church groups to make a difference in the lives of local cancer patients—one meal at a time.
Each month, the Living with Cancer Support Group meets on the second Thursday to share encouragement, resources, and connection. Groups or individuals can sponsor a meal for the meeting, offering not only nourishment but also comfort and community to those walking through their cancer journey.
Each gathering hosts about 18–20 members, and meals typically cost between $60 and $80. Past sponsors have provided everything from sandwich trays and chicken tenders to pizza—or even homemade potluck dinners.
“This is one of the simplest and most heartfelt ways to show love and support for people right here in our community,” said Anna Drew Miller, Executive Director of the Laurens County Cancer Association. “Our support group meetings are about more than just food—they’re about connection, encouragement, and hope.”
The next meetings are scheduled for Thursday, November 13, and Thursday, December 11, and both are open for meal sponsors.
