Vickie Davis named Executive Director of Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board

November 5, 2025

Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) announced the selection of Vickie Davis as its new Executive Director, marking a new chapter in leadership for the regional tourism organization. Following a nationwide search, the CCLMC Executive Director Search Committee recommended Davis for the role, earning unanimous approval from the Board of Directors.

With more than 25 years of experience in management, tourism development, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement across corporate, nonprofit, and governmental sectors, Davis brings a proven record of leadership and innovation to her new role.

“We are pleased to announce that Vickie Davis will be the new Executive Director of Capital City/Lake Murray Country beginning January 5, 2026,” said Jan Jernigan, Chair of the CCLMC Board of Directors. “She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the organization, and we are confident in her leadership and ability to guide us forward as we continue serving our four-county region.”

A proud resident of Lexington, Davis spent nearly a decade with CCLMC serving as Senior Vice President of Funding and Events before departing in 2024. She strengthened partnerships across Lexington, Richland, Newberry, and Saluda Counties; oversaw the organization’s fundraising initiatives; and led the successful execution of high-profile events including Taste of Lake Murray and Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration, which raised more than $1.1 million under her direction. Her leadership was instrumental in expanding CCLMC’s annual event portfolio to more than 20 tourism-driven experiences that generated substantial economic impact for the region.

Davis’ background includes serving as Senior Events Manager with The Post and Courier/South Carolina Event Productions, where she led major community events like the 2025 Columbia Food & Wine Festival and expanded revenue through sponsorships, ticket sales, and grants. Earlier in her career, she was Vice President and Branch Manager at BB&T (now Truist), gaining valuable experience in financial management, team leadership, and customer relations. These skills continue to shape her strategic and results-driven approach.

Beyond her professional work, Davis has been deeply engaged in community leadership, having served as President and Vice President of the Village Square Theatre Board and Chair of the USC Aiken Midlands Alumni Chapter, where she established the local chapter and launched successful fundraising initiatives. She is also a graduate of Leadership Lexington County, an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lexington, and an active volunteer in several civic and youth programs.

“Seventeen years ago, I began my journey with this organization as a volunteer, and it’s truly an honor to be selected to serve as Executive Director,” said Davis. “I’m grateful for the confidence of the CCLMC board and inspired by the talented team that continues to advance the mission of promoting tourism in Lexington, Richland, Newberry, and Saluda Counties every day.”

As Executive Director, Davis will continue to advance CCLMC’s mission of promoting tourism with a vision centered on strengthening partnerships, enhancing collaboration, and driving sustainable growth for the Capital City/Lake Murray Country region.
