The Ford & Ford Group launches of the Michele Bossi Nursing Scholarship in honor of a legacy of compassion

The Ford & Ford Group announced the launch of the Michele Bossi Nursing Scholarship, honoring the life and legacy of Michele Bossi, a devoted nurse, mother, and lifelong advocate for care and compassion. The scholarship opened on October 29, which would have been Michele’s 69th birthday, a fitting tribute to a woman whose life was dedicated to helping others. This scholarship fund is made possible with the support of community donations and with the logistical help of the Regional Medical Center Foundation in Orangeburg, SC.

Bossi’s career in nursing was marked by her exceptional kindness, strength, and empathy. Bossi was a graduate of Somerville High School, Somerville Hospital School of Nursing, and received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She was known for her tireless commitment to her patients, her unwavering support for her colleagues, and the boundless love she shared with her family and friends.

She lived a very full and accomplished life. From working as a Registered Nurse specializing in critical care to establishing and running Longwood Plantation Assisted Living Community to care for people in the sunset of their lives, she had a heart of gold and impacted the lives of many people. After she retired from Longwood Plantation, she spent time traveling the world before deciding she was not ready for true retirement. Michele became a nursing educator, teaching the next generation of nurses at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.

Through the Michele Bossi Nursing Scholarship, The Ford & Ford Group seeks to continue her mission by supporting aspiring nurses who embody her values and dedication to service.

The scholarship will provide financial assistance to students in South Carolina pursuing a degree in nursing who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to compassionate care.
