Waccamaw Neck Library Announces Slate of December Programs

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. — The Waccamaw Neck Branch Library has released its schedule of events and programs for December, offering a variety of activities for children, teens and adults. The month is highlighted by a special performance and a family-friendly New Year’s celebration.

🎭 Special Events

• BrightStar Theatre Performance: On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the library will host BrightStar Theatre for a performance of “Holidays Around the World.” The all-ages show takes place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the DeBordieu-Cross Auditorium.
• Family New Year Noon Day Party: Ring in the new year early on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The party, for all ages, will feature craft tables for collaging, vision boards and more, culminating in a countdown to noon with juice toasts and treats.

📚 Programs for Kids

The library offers several recurring programs for younger patrons and their caregivers:

• Toddler Time! — Creative movement and dance for babies, toddlers and preschoolers on Mondays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. (no class Dec. 22 or 29).
• Family Storytime — Stories, songs and early-literacy fun every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. (no storytime Dec. 24 or 31).
• STEAM Tuesdays! — Hands-on problem-solving activities focused on science, technology, engineering, art and math for ages 6 and older, Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. (no class Dec. 23 or 30).
• Kids Crafternoon — Hands-on art projects for ages 6 to 12 on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Note a special Myrtle Beach Art Museum Visit is scheduled for Dec. 6. (No class Dec. 18 or 25).
• LEGO Free Build — An open build session for all ages with the library’s Lego collection every Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (no building Dec. 26).

🧘 Programs for Adults and Teens

• Common Threads — A casual needle project group that meets every Monday from 1 to 3 p.m.
• Adult BINGO — A BINGO session for patrons 18 and older, with prizes and snacks, on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Space is limited to 75 attendees.
• Creative Writing for Teens & YA — Ongoing, drop-in creative writing workshops for teens and young adults every Monday from 4 to 5 p.m. (no class Dec. 22 or 29).
• Adult Community Yoga — All-levels welcome donation class held every Wednesday from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., concluding its run on Dec. 17.
• Adult Laser Cutting & Engraving Training — Learn software and create a take-home project on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. Five seats are available per session.
• Game Night! — Board games, RPGs and card games for ages 10 to adult every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. (no games Dec. 24 or 31).

• Friday – Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
