Ethan Collins Named Laurens County Touchdown Club Player of the Week
November 17, 2025The Laurens County Touchdown Club is proud to announce that for games played on Friday, November 14th, the Player of the week is Laurens Academy quarterback Ethan Collins.
Collins is a junior quarterback that lead the Crusaders to a thrilling 30 – 24 victory over previously undefeated Holly Hill Academy to advance to the State Title game this Friday, November 21st at a neutral site at Calhoun Academy versus W. W. King Academy.
Ethan Collins had 67 yards rushing on 11 carries and 2 touchdowns for the Crusaders. Collins converted a 2-Pt. conversion as well. Collins was successful on 7 passes on 12 attempts for 126 yards for the state semi-final contest won by the Crusaders 30 – 24.
Head Coach Jolly Doolittle stated, “Ethan has led us from the QB position now as a three year starter. He is everything you want in a QB. He is tough, smart, a relentless competitor, and a 12 month hard worker. In short, he is a Leader. He is a QB.”
The Laurens County Touchdown Club will honor Collins on November 20th at the bi-monthlyTouchdown Club meeting. The meeting will be at noon at The Ridge in Laurens with Whiteford’s of Laurens serving the meal and the food service line opening at 11:45 am. Playerof the Week awards will presented in 2025 by Farm Bureau Insurance of Laurens County.
The November 20th meeting will feature the South Carolina versus Clemson preview with legendary player Rick Sanford representing the Gamecocks of South Carolina and outstanding former Tiger Coach Robbie Caldwell representing the Clemson Tigers.
The Laurens County Touchdown Club meets every other Thursday throughout the football season at The Ridge located in Laurens at 301 Exchange Road and the public is invited. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15. All meetings are at Noon with the food service line opening at 11:45 am.
Additionally, the Farm Bureau Insurance “Player of the Week’ awards will be presented for the October 31 as well as the November 7 and 14 High School football games and we will have a recap from all of the coaches of the local High School teams and Presbyterian College. Lakelands FCA of Laurens County will present a ‘Players Bible’ to each award winner as well.
