Somm expands to Nexton with grand opening November 21

Somm, the well-loved Johns Island wine bar known for its curated wine flights and approachable atmosphere, is set to open its second location in Nexton on Friday, November 21 at 4 p.m.

Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Jordan and Darlene Hooker, Somm Nexton brings the same signature warmth and expertise that has made their Johns Island location a favorite among Lowcountry wine enthusiasts. The new bar, located at 420 Cross Park Lane, Suite A, in Summerville, will be open five days a week: Tuesday–Thursday: 4 p.m.–9 p.m., and Friday, 4 p.m.–10 p.m., and Saturday from 2 p.m.–10 p.m.

The Nexton location is double the size of the original and features a spacious outdoor patio, ideal for sipping and socializing. Guests can expect daily wine flights, nightly pours, a no-corkage-fee policy, and a mirrored menu of Somm’s Johns Island offerings.

Beyond the daily experience, Somm Nexton plans to host educational wine classes, themed wine dinners, exclusive wine club gatherings, and occasional pop-up collaborations with local businesses and culinary partners.

“We’ve seen how much the community values having a comfortable, educational space to enjoy wine,” said Jordan Hooker, Sommelier and co-owner of Somm. “Our goal is to bring that same sense of discovery and connection to Nexton—where both wine enthusiasts and newcomers can feel right at home.”
