December 3, 2025Local leader and author Shirley H. Clark is inviting the community to join her for the official launch and signing of her new book, Dual Calling: Pulpit and Politics, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 116 S. Public Square in downtown Laurens.
Clark, who currently serves on Laurens County Council representing District 3, brings a unique perspective to her latest work. Her book reflects a deeply personal journey of walking boldly into God’s purpose—even in the face of criticism, doubt, and barriers. Dual Calling: Pulpit and Politics chronicles her testimony of endurance, leadership, and unwavering faith. It explores what it means to trust God’s plan when the world insists you don’t belong in certain spaces.
“This book is the story of stepping into divine purpose despite opposition,” Clark shares. “It is a reminder that when God calls you, He equips you—even when others question your place.”
Attendees at the book launch will have the opportunity to meet Clark, learn more about her experiences in both ministry and public service, and have their copies personally signed. The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to stop by, support a local author, and be inspired by a message rooted in perseverance and conviction.
