Unity Park Playground to Close for 2-3 Weeks for Hurricane Repairs

Unity Park’s playground will close Monday, Dec. 8, as crews replace synthetic turf.

The turf system at the TD SYNNEX Playground was damaged during flooding from Hurricane Helene in 2024, causing base materials beneath the surface to shift. Crews will remove the existing turf, repair the underlying materials and improve attachment points around the playground’s perimeter. Beginning Dec. 4, the Meadow Lot 2 parking area will be closed to store repair materials.

The repairs are expected to take two to three weeks.
