HTC Partners with Make-A-Wish to host celebration to grant local child a trip to Legoland

Community Partner Helps Conway 12-Year-Old Receive Long-Awaited Wish

HTC, the area’s largest fiber internet provider, hosted a Make-A-Wish celebration today at its Conway campus to announce that Scarlett, a 12-year-old from Conway who is currently battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, will receive her wish for a trip to LEGOLAND and a Disney park of her choice. The event was held as part of HTC’s ongoing sponsorship with Make-A-Wish South Carolina and brought together HTC employees, community supporters and Make-A-Wish representatives.

Scarlett’s celebration included activities centered around her favorite things, including Legos, chocolate cake, gummy bears, Squishmallows, a bracelet-making kit and a “Wall of Wishes” built from blue Legos inscribed with encouraging messages for her journey. During the event, she received a variety of gifts from HTC and was also named an honorary REEL Kid – a title from a longstanding HTC initiative.

The celebration concluded with refreshments, photos and time for Scarlett to enjoy the activities created specifically for her interest.

“Moments like these are only possible through strong community partnerships,” said Kea Wade, Make-A-Wish SC Director of Corporate and Community Engagement. “HTC’s support helps us create life-changing experiences for children like Scarlett, giving them hope and joy during incredibly challenging times.”

As part of the celebration, HTC will also donate Legos purchased for the event to four local organizations to support youth programs and creative play.
