Gaither, who graduated from Claflin in 2009, is a product of Richland One. She attended W.G. Sanders Middle School before graduating from W.J. Keenan High School in 2005.

“Receiving the award is a profound honor, reflecting my dedication to giving back to the community that shaped me. Returning to teach in the district where I grew up allows me to inspire students as my own teachers did for me,” said Gaither.

Jefferson received her bachelor’s degree in music from Claflin in 2007.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to stand alongside such honorable trailblazers in education, industry and beyond. Claflin University is the epitome of visionary leaders, and I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve as an educator and mentor in Richland One,” said Jefferson.
