Prisma Health Urgent Care opens new Ballentine location
December 18, 2025Ballentine center offering same-day care and one-swab cold and flu testing
Prisma Health Urgent Care announced today the opening of a new location in Ballentine. Beginning December 15, 2025, residents can visit the center at 1085 Dutch Fork Rd, Irmo, SC 29063 for convenient, high-quality walk-in treatment of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. All Prisma Health Urgent Care locations operate 8 a.m.–8 p.m., seven days a week.
The new Ballentine location expands access to same-day care for families in the Irmo and Dutch Fork communities, offering quick, reliable medical care close to home. Opening during peak cold and flu season, the center will feature advanced Spotfire™ one-swab testing, which detects multiple respiratory illnesses—including flu, COVID-19, and RSV—with a single sample. This rapid diagnostic tool helps patients receive timely answers and treatment plans, supporting a faster path to recovery.
“As the Ballentine and Irmo areas continue to grow, access to timely, convenient healthcare remains essential,” said Meleia Ramseur, area clinical operations director. “Prisma Health Urgent Care provides immediate care for non-life-threatening conditions and helps reduce unnecessary emergency room visits. This new location supports our mission to deliver the right care, at the right time, in the right place for the communities we serve.”
“Bringing urgent care services to Ballentine is another important step toward expanding access to patient-centered, affordable care across the Midlands,” said Steven Celestina, vice president of operations for Prisma Health Urgent Care. “We know the community values weekend and extended hours, walk-in options, and fast diagnostic results—especially during respiratory season—and this center is designed to meet those needs.”
“The opening of Prisma Health Urgent Care–Ballentine strengthens our commitment to delivering compassionate, convenient care close to where people live and work,” said Dr. Patrice Weiss, chief medical officer for Prisma Health Medical Group. “Patients shouldn’t have to travel far or wait long to get the help they need. This new location ensures more families in the Midlands have quick access to trusted care.”
