December 30, 2025

The Central SC Alliance (CSCA) announced the retirement of Stephen Roddey, Vice President of Business Recruitment, following a 19-year tenure with the organization and three decades in economic and business development.

Roddey joined the Central SC Alliance in 2006 as Senior Project & Business Development Manager, later serving as Director of Business Development before being named Vice President of Business Recruitment in 2023. Throughout his time with CSCA, he played a key role in guiding business recruitment efforts, supporting project activity across the region and strengthening relationships with partners at the local, regional and state levels.

Before joining CSCA, Roddey held positions with the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Terracon Consultants and Wachovia Bank, gaining broad experience across the business development, project management and client relations sectors.

Reflecting on his retirement, Roddey said, “It has been a great privilege to be associated with the Central SC Alliance. I am thankful for the opportunity to build deep relationships and to assist in the improvement of a truly special place. The best days are yet to come. I will be cheering on our continued progress.”

CSCA colleagues noted Roddey’s longstanding contributions to the organization and region. “Stephen has been more than a colleague. He’s been a storyteller, a mentor and our resident loyal Gamecock fan. His commitment to the region and the countless connections he’s built over 19 years have shaped our team in lasting ways. As much as we’ll miss him, we couldn’t be happier for him as he begins an exciting new season of life.”

Roddey’s retirement will be effective December 31, 2025. CSCA will share details regarding transition plans in the coming weeks.
