The program will match residents with local service organizations.

A new pilot program from the City of Greenville matches residents with local service organizations.

The ICARE CommUnity Hub will host its first twice-monthly event on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sears Recreation Center in McPherson Park. Administered by the City’s Community Development division, the hub aims to match residents in need with local organizations that can provide assistance. Additional dates for the pilot will be Jan. 22, Feb. 5, Feb. 19, March 5 and March 19.

Hub events will be held every other Thursday each month.

“We want to connect and empower individuals and families with essential resources, services, and partnerships that foster stability, economic mobility and overall well-being,” said Monique Mattison, community development manager.

The Sears Recreation Center was chosen as a central location where Greenville-area nonprofits, faith-based groups and other community organizations can work together to improve economic stability, access to services, housing references and quality of life. Participating organizations will coordinate through a centralized client intake system to properly address needs. Services offered range from housing, employment and mental health support to help navigating local resources.
