Georgetown Police asking for tips on recent Liberty Steel theft

After a series of reported thefts from Liberty Steel, Georgetown Police investigators worked with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office to execute a search warrant for the stolen property at a residence located at 1753 Garrison Road in Georgetown County.
As a result of the search, all the property stolen from Liberty Steel was recovered as well as two previously reported stolen trailers from the City of Georgetown. Officers also recovered stolen property from adjacent jurisdictions. The estimated total value of all the recovered stolen property is approximately $200,000.
Several persons of interest have been identified, and investigators are attempting to locate them for questioning. This is an on-going investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
