HGTC to continue online instruction and remote work on Tuesday
February 2, 2026Following continued monitoring of weather conditions and reports of icy and potentially hazardous road conditions across the area, Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) will continue with online instruction and remote work on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Faculty, staff and students should not report to campus for in-person classes, clinical or clinical rotations, internships and preceptorships, federal work-study positions or any other in-person activities on Tuesday. All instruction will take place online, and College operations will continue through remote work and virtual services.
College leadership made the decision to extend remote operations out of concern for travel safety and the well-being of the HGTC community. Winter weather conditions can present challenges not only for road travel, but also for families, childcare needs and other personal responsibilities. College officials expressed appreciation for the flexibility and cooperation shown by students and employees during this time.
Please note that registration for Flex Start classes remains open. Students who need assistance with registration or related questions are encouraged to email [email protected] for support. For other enrollment, registration, or financial aid assistance, contact FA Solutions at 843-347-3186 or [email protected]. Additional information about virtual services is available through the HGTC Virtual Services Guide on the College website.
HGTC remains committed to ensuring continuity of instruction and student services while prioritizing safety. Plans for Wednesday operations will be assessed Tuesday, and an update will be shared tomorrow afternoon as additional information becomes available.
Students, employees and community members are encouraged to monitor official College communication channels for updates, including HGTC email, the HGTC Advisory Page, the myHGTC Portal, HGTC social media platforms and local media outlets.
