Brookgreen Gardens to honor legacy of women in arts at annual luncheon
February 17, 2026Brookgreen Gardens will host the 2026 Anna Hyatt Huntington Woman of Vision Award Luncheon on March 26, celebrating the enduring influence of women in the arts and the legacy of the gardens’ co-founder.
The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the newly opened Purdy Welcome Center and Conservatory Gardens. This marks the first event of its kind held in the new facility, offering attendees an intimate look at the center’s horticultural displays and the Paul Manship bird sculptures.
The 2026 program features a panel discussion centered on the life and work of prominent American sculptor Glenna Goodacre. Known for the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the design of the Sacagawea dollar coin, Goodacre’s works are a significant part of Brookgreen’s permanent collection.
Panelists for the discussion include:
-
Daniel Anthony, sculptor and longtime business manager for Glenna Goodacre.
-
Ben Whiteside, owner of Red Piano Art Gallery.
-
Robin Salmon, Vice President of Art & Historical Collections and curator of sculpture at Brookgreen Gardens.
The discussion will be moderated by Page Kiniry, President and CEO of Brookgreen Gardens.
In addition to the keynote discussion, the luncheon will serve as the platform for the presentation of the 2026 Anna Hyatt Huntington Woman of Vision Award. The honor recognizes an individual whose philanthropic efforts have significantly impacted the arts and the Brookgreen community. The event will also name the recipient of the Next Generation Scholarship, which supports an arts student at Coastal Carolina University.
Proceeds from the luncheon directly fund the Next Generation Scholarship. Tickets for the event are available for $65 for members and $75 for non-members.
