Dr. Greg Little, President, Midlands Technical College
Midlands Technical College (MTC) is a six-campus, two-year comprehensive community college serving Richland, Lexington, and Fairfield counties in South Carolina. The college provides higher education opportunities that stimulate the local economy by generating a world-class workforce and enhancing the social vitality of the community. Students can choose from more than 150 programs in eight Schools of Study with flexible scheduling options including online, virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats.
Last year, MTC adopted a new strategic plan that centers around the conviction that Every Maverick Matters, including the 25,000 students in college’s academic and training programs, as well as MTC’s business partners, community members, and military and veteran populations.
The SC Legislature recently allotted one of the largest appropriations in the college’s history to help the college address the growing skills gap across many industries. The college is positioned to grow the number of graduates with the skills necessary to take advantage of these lucrative opportunities, including those with Scout Motors. As an official education and training partner for the Scout Motors production center, MTC partnered with Scout leaders to create a new Electric Vehicle (EV) Engineering Technology program and to enhance four other programs that will prepare students for EV careers.
