Boot Scootin auditions open at Younts Center for Performing Arts

The Younts Center for Performing Arts is calling for local talent as it prepares for its upcoming production of Boot Scootin’ Boogie: A Live Country Music Experience. This high-energy country music revue, presented by Ignite Theatrical, is looking for singers and dancers to join the cast for what promises to be a major highlight of the summer season.

Looking for the Next Country Stars

Auditions are open to performers of all experience levels who have a passion for country music and a strong stage presence. The production team is seeking a diverse cast of vocalists who can handle a wide range of country sub-genres—from classic honky-tonk and outlaw country to modern Nashville hits.

Dancers with experience in line dancing, clogging, or upbeat theatrical movement are also encouraged to attend. The show relies heavily on synchronized routines and high-energy choreography, making movement a key component of the audition process.

Audition Details and Preparation

Performers interested in joining the company should arrive prepared to showcase their best country-style vocals. Auditions will take place at the Younts Center, located at 315 North Main Street in Fountain Inn.

Preparation requirements typically include:

• Vocal selection: Prepare roughly 16 to 32 bars of a country song that highlights your vocal range and personality.

• Sheet music: Bring clearly marked sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided.

• Movement: Be prepared to learn a short movement combination, so comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear are recommended.

While auditions are taking place now, the production itself is scheduled to hit the stage in late summer. The performance run will take place over two weekends in August 2026:

• Opening Weekend: Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9

• Closing Weekend: Friday, August 14 through Sunday, August 16

Evening performances are scheduled for 7:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, with matinee shows at 2:00 pm on Saturdays and 3:00 pm on Sundays.
