Mount Pleasant Chamber launches “RISE & Bloom” to empower Lowcountry women in business
February 24, 2026The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce (MPCC) announce its inaugural RISE & Bloom: A Spring Luncheon, taking place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the historic Alhambra Hall in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant.
Hosted by the Chamber’s RISE initiative—dedicated to helping women in business Reach, Inspire, Support, and Empower one another—the luncheon is designed to celebrate the leaders, builders and barrier breakers within the Lowcountry professional community.
The event features a dynamic panel of accomplished local entrepreneurs and advocates who will share real world insights on leadership, navigating the business landscape and scaling for growth. The panel includes:

Jennet Robinson Alterman: Noted non-profit consultant and long time Women’s Rights Advocate.

Christine Osborne: Founder of the legendary Wonder Works Toys.

Melissa Polutta: Owner and co-founder of the industry-leading waste management company, Trash Gurl.

Kylie Bissell: Owner and force behind the Hot Girl Cycle Club.
The afternoon will be moderated by Octavia Mitchell, the Emmy award winning anchor for News 2 Today. Attendees will enjoy a curated mimosa bar, a catered lunch and an atmosphere tailored for high level networking and candid conversation.
“Whether you are an established executive, a startup entrepreneur, or an emerging leader, this is a space to connect and be inspired,” said Kathi Herrmann, RISE Committee Chair. “It’s more than just a lunch; it’s a celebration of women who mean business.”
Tickets for the event are $60 per person and include access to the lunch, mimosa bar and panel discussion. Space is limited at the iconic waterfront venue, and early registration is encouraged.
