Midway Fire Rescue honors top personnel at annual awards banquet
March 8, 2026Midway Fire Rescue honored its staff and celebrated a year of service during its annual awards banquet held recently at the Litchfield Country Club.
The evening, which featured live entertainment by Randy Atwood and the Renegades, served as a platform to recognize outstanding individual contributions to the department. Three premier honors were presented during the ceremony:

Battalion Chief Carney Officer of the Year Award: Capt. Steven Morales, an EMT.

Firefighter/AEMT Garrett Coyne Paramedic of the Year Award: Master Firefighter Henry Hulit, a paramedic.

Daniel Roy Firefighter of the Year Award: Master Firefighter John Rossotto, an EMT.
Department officials expressed gratitude to neighboring agencies, including Georgetown County Fire/EMS, the Georgetown City Fire Department, and the Murrells Inlet–Garden City Fire District. These partners provided fire and EMS coverage for the Midway jurisdiction, allowing on-duty crews to attend the festivities.
“Most importantly, it was a night filled with fellowship and appreciation for the incredible people who serve our community every day,” the department stated in a release.
Organizers said they have already begun preliminary planning for next year’s event.
