Attorney General Alan Wilson Visits Laurens as He Continues Campaign for Governor

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson visited Laurens on Saturday for a community meet-and-greet at Tap & Table on the Public Square as he continues his campaign for Governor of South Carolina. The visit provided an opportunity for Wilson to connect with residents and hear directly from members of the Laurens community.

The gathering drew a crowd of local residents, business owners, and community leaders. Senator Danny Verdin, Laurens County Sheriff Don Reynolds, and Laurens County Councilman Matthew Brownlee each offered remarks as they introduced Wilson to those in attendance.

During his remarks, Wilson reflected on his years of service as South Carolina’s Attorney General and highlighted several priorities that have defined his work in office. He spoke about his efforts to combat human trafficking, strengthen child protection laws, protect the unborn, and pursue policies aimed at eliminating the state income tax. Wilson also shared about his continued service in the South Carolina National Guard and his experience as a combat veteran.

Following his remarks, Wilson spent time interacting with members of the community, answering questions and listening to concerns from those who attended the gathering.

After the meet-and-greet concluded, Wilson toured the downtown square with Main Street Laurens Director Brad Abercrombie and Laurens County Councilman Matthew Brownlee. During the walk through downtown, Wilson stopped in several businesses where he was introduced to owners, employees, and customers. The conversations provided an opportunity for Wilson to hear directly from local small business owners about the opportunities and challenges they face in operating and growing their businesses in Laurens.

The visit offered residents the chance to meet Wilson in an informal setting and share their perspectives on issues important to the Laurens community as he continues traveling across the state during his campaign for governor.
