The South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association (SCOPA) announced its 2026 Spring Meeting, March 27–29, 2026, at the historic Westin Poinsett in downtown Greenville, offering up to 10 hours of COPE-approved continuing education. Nearly 100 optometric physicians from across South Carolina are expected to attend, expanding their clinical knowledge, and strengthening the care they provide to patients throughout the state.

“The SCOPA Spring Meeting is one of the most valuable professional development events of the year for optometric physicians across our state,” said Dr. Michele Donovan, SCOPA Meetings and Seminar chair. “This year’s program delivers timely clinical education and meaningful opportunities to collaborate with colleagues who are committed to advancing patient care in South Carolina.”

The Spring Meeting will feature nationally recognized speakers and a dynamic educational program designed to provide optometric physicians with the latest clinical insights, emerging technologies, and practical strategies to enhance patient care.

Featured speaker Dr. Frances Bynum, a graduate of the Southern College of Optometry and owner of Northwest Tennessee Eye Clinic, is known for her expertise in contact lenses, ocular disease, pathology, and refractive surgical co-management. Dr. Bynum has helped introduce advanced procedures and technologies into modern optometric practice and serves as a speaker and consultant for several leading industry organizations.

Also presenting is Dr. Osama Said, Program Director of Externships and Professional Services at MyEyeDr., where he oversees the largest private-sector optometry externship program in the United States. A respected educator and clinical leader, Dr. Said frequently lectures at national meetings and is recognized for his work in ocular surface disease, specialty contact lenses, artificial intelligence in eye care, and practice management.

The annual Spring Meeting reflects SCOPA’s ongoing commitment to supporting optometric physicians through education, advocacy, and professional collaboration.
