Laurens County Humane Society to Host Low-Cost “Chips and Tips” Pet Care Event March 14
March 9, 2026The Laurens County Humane Society is inviting pet owners from across the region to take advantage of affordable veterinary services during its upcoming “Chips and Tips” event on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Laurens County Humane Society facility located at 793 Poplar Street in Clinton. The clinic will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and no appointments are required.
Designed to help pet owners keep their animals healthy and properly identified, the event will offer a variety of low-cost services including vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing, flea and tick prevention, and nail trims.
Services available during the event include:
Nail Trim – $10
Rabies Vaccination – $10
DHPP (Canine Distemper Combination Vaccine) – $15
Bordetella Vaccine – $12
Microchipping – $20
Heartworm Test – $14
Heartworm Prevention (1 month) – $10 per pill
Flea/Tick Medication (1 month) – $20 per pill
Feline FVRCP Vaccine – $12
Dewormer (for hookworms/roundworms) – $5
All pets receiving services must show proof of a current rabies vaccination or will be required to receive the rabies vaccine at the event before other services can be administered. Officials note that rabies tags on collars are not considered proof of vaccination.
Because flea, tick, and heartworm medications are prescription items, pets must have been seen by the Laurens County Humane Society within the past 12 months in order to purchase those medications.
To help the event run smoothly, organizers are asking pet owners to follow a few guidelines:
Park only in designated areas
Leave pets in vehicles until called
Check in at the building entrance upon arrival
Cats must be in carriers
Dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier
Be patient and courteous as animals are seen in order of arrival
There is no limit on the number of pets per household, and residents from any county are welcome to participate.
Both cash and card payments will be accepted, though a $5 fee will apply to card transactions.
Organizers say the goal of the event is to make basic veterinary care accessible while helping reduce the number of lost or unvaccinated pets in the community.
For pet owners looking for affordable preventive care, the Chips and Tips event offers a convenient opportunity to keep pets healthy and protected.
