Little River Park Temporarily Closed for Improvements in the City of Laurens

March 10, 2026

The City of Laurens has temporarily closed Little River Park as planned upgrades and maintenance begin at the popular community space.

City officials say the improvements come after months of planning and collaboration aimed at enhancing the park while ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for residents and visitors. The work will focus on maintenance and upgrades designed to improve the overall experience for those who use the park.

While Little River Park is closed, residents are encouraged to take advantage of other nearby recreational spaces, including Laurens City Park on Brownlee Avenue, as well as parks operated by Laurens County.

As part of the effort to care for and improve the area, the City of Laurens will host a community cleanup on April 23 that will focus on Little River Park and surrounding areas. Community members are encouraged to participate and help support the revitalization of the park.

City leaders say the cleanup will provide an opportunity for residents to work together in caring for one of Laurens’ community spaces while contributing to ongoing efforts to maintain the city’s parks.

Additional details about the April 23 cleanup event will be announced in the coming weeks.
