Capes and Community: Superhero 5k Returns to Fountain Inn to Support Autism Advocacy
March 13, 2026The streets of downtown Fountain Inn are set to transform into a sea of capes and costumes as the 7th Annual Superhero 5k Run/Walk for Autism returns on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Hosted by the Fountain Inn Police Department, the event continues its mission to serve beyond the badge by raising funds and awareness for the local autism community.
Since its inception, the race has grown into one of the city’s most anticipated spring traditions. Last year’s event saw participants raise over $25,500 for Friends of the Little White House, a non-profit dedicated to providing life skills, job training, and educational support for individuals on the spectrum.

These services are vital for local families, offering a safe space where individuals can identify their passions—ranging from archery and gardening to essential life skills that foster independence.
This event represents the very best of our community, said Police Chief Patrick Fortenberry. Each year, we see people come together not just to run or walk, but to make a real difference.
