Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale, Peter Pan JR. features an unforgettable score by Morris “Moose” Charlap and Jule Styne with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green. This beloved musical adventure follows Peter, Wendy, and the Darling children on a journey to Neverland filled with catchy songs, colorful characters, and heartwarming lessons about bravery and friendship.
A part of CCT’s YouTheatre program, this PB&J Players production features young performers from grades 1–6 who auditioned, rehearsed, and prepared this fully staged musical under professional direction. This production also marks a special collaboration with CCT’s after-school stagecraft class, connecting the theatre’s education programs with its performance programming and giving young artists the chance to explore both sides of the curtain.
“Our PB&J Players go through a real theatrical process: auditions, blocking, choreography, the full experience,” says CCT Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson. “What families will see on stage is the result of weeks of dedicated work by young performers who are developing real skills as theatre artists.”
“This production is a great example of how our programs work together,” says Director of Operations Sadie Carr. “Several of these performers started in our camps and after-school classes, and the stagecraft collaboration means they’re not just acting in the show, they’re learning how a production comes together from the ground up.”
Ticket Information: Tickets are $15 general admission and can be purchased at www.columbiachildrenstheatre.com or by calling (803) 691-4548.
