Beacon Coffee & Cafe celebrates grand opening and ribbon cutting in Blythewood
March 17, 2026Beacon Coffee & Cafe, a locally owned specialty coffee shop focused on quality ingredients and handcrafted food, will celebrate its Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The celebration will bring together community members, small business supporters, and local leaders to recognize the collaborative effort behind one of Blythewood’s newest businesses.
Located at 733 University Village, Suite F, Beacon Coffee & Cafe has quickly become a welcoming gathering place for residents seeking thoughtfully prepared coffee, fresh baked pastries, and handcrafted breakfast and lunch options.
The event will highlight the partnership between Beacon Coffee & Cafe, SCORE Midlands, and the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce, organizations working together to support entrepreneurship and strengthen the small business community in Blythewood.
“We wanted to create a place where people in Blythewood could slow down, connect, and enjoy really good coffee and food made with care,” said Landon Thompson, owner of Beacon Coffee & Cafe. “It’s been incredible to see the community already supporting us, and we love hearing people say Beacon is a place they’re excited to bring friends and visitors when they come to town.”
The café emphasizes quality and craftsmanship in every detail. Beacon Coffee & Cafe uses imported Italian flour, real butter, and organic ingredients whenever possible, while avoiding seed oils and artificial food dyes.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will include free samples of specialty drinks and fresh pastries, along with an opportunity for guests to meet the team behind Beacon Coffee & Cafe.
“Small businesses are the heart of our community, and we are thrilled to celebrate the success and growth of Beacon Coffee & Cafe,” said Deb Stapleton, Executive Director of the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce. “Events like ribbon cuttings allow us to highlight the entrepreneurs who are investing in Blythewood and creating spaces where our community can gather, connect, and thrive.”
The café’s growth also reflects the role mentorship plays in supporting entrepreneurs.
“Mentorship is at the heart of every small business success story,” said Buddy Smith, Midlands Chairman of SCORE South Carolina. “The success of Beacon Coffee is a perfect example of what happens when someone with a dream is mentored by someone with the experience of starting and growing a successful business. We at SCORE Midlands could not be more proud of Landon and Jordan Thompson and have every confidence in their continued success.”
Community members are invited to attend the event and help officially welcome Beacon Coffee & Cafe to the Blythewood business community.
