Clinton High School Boys Tennis Sweeps Columbia High School 6–0
March 18, 2026The Clinton High School boys tennis team delivered an impressive performance on the court, earning a decisive 6–0 victory over Columbia High School in recent match play.
Clinton dominated the competition across the singles lineup, winning all five singles matches. At No. 1 singles, Matthew King set the tone early with a commanding 6–0, 6–0 win over Malek Cherry. Edwin Orr followed with another shutout victory at No. 2 singles, defeating Jayden Hagans 6–0, 6–0.
Jacob King continued the momentum for the Red Devils at No. 3 singles with a strong 6–0, 6–0 victory over Tristan Kruckow-Remsburg. At No. 4 singles, Jake Meyerholtz added another dominant performance, defeating Travis Edmond 6–0, 6–0.
Cooper Stinson rounded out singles play at No. 5 with a solid 6–2, 6–2 win over Matthias Wilson.
In doubles play, the No. 2 doubles team of Malakye Brewer and Ethan Wargo also secured a convincing win for Clinton, defeating Angel Torrez and Culeb Monett 6–0, 6–0. The No. 1 doubles match was not played.
With the victory, Clinton High School improves its season record to 4–1.
The Red Devils will return to action on Friday, March 20, when they travel to face Columbia High School. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
