Barnabas Horse Foundation to host “Afternoon Tea with Equines” event on April 18
March 24, 2026The Barnabas Horse Foundation will host its signature spring event, “Afternoon Tea with Equines,” on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at its serene farm in Murrells Inlet.
This elegant and meaningful gathering invites guests to experience the transformative power of equine-assisted services while enjoying an afternoon of connection, reflection, and purpose. The event will be beautifully catered by Inlet Affairs, offering thoughtfully prepared refreshments to complement the experience.
Attendees will enjoy private guided tours of the farm, live demonstrations showcasing the role horses play in trauma-informed care, and an exclusive auction benefiting Barnabas programs. Guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion, with prizes awarded for Best Fascinator and Best Bow Tie.
More than a social event, Afternoon Tea with Equines highlights the life-changing work of Barnabas Horse Foundation, which provides trauma-informed, ground-based equine-assisted services at no cost to survivors of crime, veterans, and first responders.
“At Barnabas, we see every day how horses create a space where people feel safe, seen, and understood,” said Sue McKinney, Founder and President. “This event invites our community to step into that experience and witness the healing in a powerful and personal way.”
Over the past year, Barnabas has provided more than 1,000 individual sessions and numerous group programs, helping individuals regulate their nervous systems, rebuild trust, and move forward in their healing journeys. Events like this ensure these critical services remain accessible to those who need them most.
