Denmark Technical College announces Helton as assistant vice president of student affairs

Denmark Technical College welcomes Taylor Helton, Ed.D., who returns to the college as associate vice president for student affairs, campus experience, responsible for overseeing housing and residence life, student involvement, weekend programs and student affairs special projects.

Helton brings experience in student affairs leadership, campus engagement and student success initiatives, with a focus on helping students navigate their college experience and achieve their goals.

Helton most recently served as program manager for transformation support at the United Negro College Fund Institute of Capacity Building, where she supported initiatives focused on retention, student engagement and institutional collaboration across several institutions. She previously served as director of student engagement and success at Denmark Technical College, where she led programs designed to strengthen student involvement, support services and campus life.

“Dr. Helton brings both experience and a deep commitment to supporting students as they pursue their goals,” said Eric Brown, Ph.D., president and CEO of Denmark Technical College. “Her leadership will help strengthen campus life and ensure our students have the support, engagement and opportunities they need to succeed.”

Helton earned a Doctor of Education in higher education leadership and policy from Clark Atlanta University, a Master of Science in psychology from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Wiley College. She also completed a professional certification in leadership practices that support ethical workplace strategies and organizational effectiveness from the University of South Florida. Her work reflects a strong commitment to fostering supportive campus environments and helping students succeed.
