ignite Your Inner Athlete: 40Forty Padel Club Officially Opens in Mauldin

March 30, 2026

The fastest-growing racket sport in the world has officially planted its flag in the Upstate 40Forty Padel Club celebrated its grand opening this week, bringing the international sensation of Padel to a premier pop-up location at 15 Jenkins Court, right in the heart of Mauldin.

Situated at the Pickle Yard, the new club aims to be more than just a sports facility; it is designed as a social hub for families and athletes across Greenville County.

What is Padel? For the uninitiated, Padel is often described as a hybrid between tennis and squash. Played in doubles on an enclosed court roughly one-third the size of a tennis court, the game utilizes solid, stringless rackets and the surrounding glass walls to keep the ball in play.

Padel is a breeze to begin but addictively challenging to master, says founder Dan Fitzgerald. Whether you are a seasoned tennis player, a passionate pickleballer, or brand new to racket sports, Padel offers something for everyone.

A Social Experience on and off the Court The Mauldin location features two outdoor panoramic Padel courts, but the 40Forty experience extends well beyond the baseline. The club features a unique juice bar and cafe housed inside a converted shipping container, offering healthy bites and refreshing drinks for players looking to refuel.

The venue is designed to be highly social, sharing space with a nearby restaurant and bar to create an environment where families can gather and stay long after their match has ended.

Programming and Getting Started 40Forty Padel Club is focused on accessibility, offering several ways for beginners to jump into the game:

  • Beginner Padel Socials: Held every Saturday morning for just $12, these sessions guide new players through the basics in a supportive environment.

  • Ladies’ Night: Every Tuesday night is dedicated to introducing women to the sport in a beginner-friendly, inexpensive setting.

  • All-Level Mixers: Regular events designed to help players find companions at their same skill level.
